About La Spiaza
La Spiaza project came into existence during a trip to Panama in the early 2006 (read our story). Attracted by the savage and untainted beauty of Playa Las Lajas and the warm welcome of its inhabitants, we started to think about a way of moving there. What else could come out of it, if not the project of opening an Italian restaurant, as any second Italian living abroad does.
On top of that, Elisa has always loved to cook, while Massimo’s passion is eating pasta! A simple and relaxing place, just few meters away from the shore, where travelers like us could stop by and relax, while enjoying the unique sight of the surrounding nature and maybe a nice Italia-style spaghetti dish as well. So, here we are: in December 2006 we came back to “our” beach where we found the ideal location and then started the project. We were genuinely surprised by the success of simple dishes such as “bruschetta” and “pasta al pomodoro”, so we decided to build a proper restaurant ASAP.
The official opening took place in December 2007, but we are constantly adding and improving to create the place that is the dream of our lifetime! Meanwhile, check out our exquisite genuine italian home-style cuisine, and our different varieties of accomodations for all budgets.
